Meet your hosts

Isabella Magee

Isabella Magee was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 11 in 2009, but she didn’t let her fear of blood and needles hold her back.

As a Diabetes Australia ambassador and advocate for self-care and self-love, she champions the belief that a malfunctioning pancreas is no barrier to living a full and healthy life.

Isabella has a deep passion for education and raising awareness about living with type 1 diabetes and strives to convey a powerful message to everyone with diabetes: you are not alone in this journey.

Sebastian Harris

Sebastian Harris was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in grade 8, where he went through a stage of denial before he could accept his diagnosis and everything that came with it.

Despite all the serious highs and lows (both physically and emotionally), Sebastian learnt everything he could about diabetes alongside his family. He now feels blessed to be able to speak about diabetes and let people know they are not alone.

Sebastian is a Diabetes Australia ambassador, and his motto is ‘You are not a diabetic, you have diabetes’ which helps him manage. Sebastian is a university student and researcher in ancient history and archaeology.
